BURNS AT THE DOUBLE FOR NEWINGTON

Conal Burns grabbed both goals as Newington YC travelled to Castledawson to defeat Wakehurst at Mill Meadow.

The 24-year-old former Cliftonville man struck after 17 minutes from the spot before following up just six minutes later.

Wakehurst responded with a couple of first half Conor Gregg efforts while, early in the second half, he fired over from close after George Young had teed him up before Jordan Lemon spotted Newington 'keeper Dean Smyth off his line but couldn't keep his effort on target.
