Scoreless at the break, Cathair Friel came closest to finding a way through three minutes from half-time when he somehow squandered an opportunity from point blank range after meeting a cross from the right.

The deadlock was broken early in the second half through new Dollingstown signing Richard Donaghy when, from a Michael Fegan left-sided cross, he fired into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Andrew Ferris almost levelled for the visitors with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining only to strike an upright.

But he did go one better three minutes after that when he finished well from inside the box.
