HOOPS HELD BUT REMAIN A POINT CLEAR

Former Town Boss Colin Malone brought his table topping Lurgan Celtic side to Crystal Park hoping to avenge The Hoops only league defeat of the season way back in August.

It was a tentative start by both sides as they sussed each other out but both played good football throughout with Town finding it difficult to penetrate a solid Celtic rear-guard in which Declan McVeigh and tough tackling Adam Rodgers were a force.

Banbridge custodian Stephen Croft gave a masterly display between the posts and was a definite contender for man of the match alongside Town's veteran defender Glen Waddell

In the end a terrific point earned for Town and not a disaster for Celtic who lead the pack by one point but have three games in hand.
