O'HANLON AND NIBLOCK LAND POINTS FOR NEWINGTON

Neither team dominated the opening stages but in the 33rd minute Jonathan Guyler netted from a Diarmuid Larkin through ball only to be adjudged offside.

A free-kick from Conal Burns was tipped over by Bryan Moore in the home goal on 40 minutes and on the stroke of half-time Tony O'Hanlon put Newington 1-0 up with a back post header.

Ballymoney thought they had equalised early in the second half with David McVicker finishing of a great move, only to be adjudged offside.

Ballymoney were again denied on 54 minutes when Larkin slotted home but it too was disallowed for yet another offside.

On 75 minutes Kevin Niblock sealed the points netting from at the front post from a low cross which gave Moore no chance in the home goal.
