ROESIDERS TOO STRONG FOR TEN-MAN SEASIDERS

Ten man Portstewart came back from two goals down before eventually succumbing to Limavady United at Mullaghcall.

In the 11th minute James Peden bundled Cathair Friel over in the box and the penalty was awarded but the big defender was dismissed as he was the last defender.

The spot kick was brilliantly saved by Joel Madison but Shane Jennings made amends for his miss on 28 minutes when he slammed the ball home from eight yards.

United doubled their advantage on 45 minutes when Hugh Carlin acrobatically finished with a bicycle kick.

Portstewart pulled one back six minutes into the second half through Johnny Stewart and on 59 minutes Lee Forgrave burst down the right wing to level the scores with a powerful drive into the bottom corner.

Player-manager Paul Owens scored with a free kick to restore 'Vady’s lead four minutes later and United killed off Portstewart's resistance in the last minute when Gareth Brown rounded the keeper and finished with aplomb.
